Colors & Textures To Compliment A Nature Themed Wedding

Using natural elements to decorate your wedding can create that memorable wow factor you’re after, but you may still be wondering where you can add a personal touch of color while letting nature remain center stage. Here are some tips to simplify the planning and create an atmosphere that’s easy on the eyes as well.

A Little Goes A Long Way

When designing or decorating with natural elements there are already many shades of green, various textures and shapes. Adding a rainbow of color can make for a very busy display and nothing will stand out, rather it might just look like a hot mess. So keep your color pallet simple with just a few complimentary colors and textures, and let mother nature handle the complicated details.

Compliment Nature With, Well, Nature

Nature made materials not only offer color but also some glitz and glamour. Choose vintage metals or glassware, polished stone, natural fabrics and dried greenery for a soft yet romantically beautiful effect.

Pulling Color Inspiration From Surrounding Landscape

Sometimes using your personal favorite colors do not compliment your location at all, so now what do you do? If able, do visit or look at pictures of the location during the season of your selected wedding date. Make note of the colors you see and decide which ones you want to highlight. Don’t try to out-compete mother nature, you may find anything you try will be lacking. If you don’t already have access to pictures for reference during planning take some during your visit. The timing is especially key if the location is far from home, this will reduce trips and your wedding’s carbon footprint.
